Simatic S7 now definitively replaces S5

Siemens is now terminating the PLC Simatic S5. For companies it is now time to start working on the upgrade to S7, the world’s biggest selling PLC. Siemens recently announced that Simatic S5, also the world’s most successful PLC, was technologically ”being laid to rest”. S7 is now definitively its replacement. Ensysta is a preferred partner for the conversion.

Why and when is S5 ending?
The market is changing so quickly that it is getting ever more difficult for S5 to continue providing an economic and technical equivalent answer. For this reason Siemens has decided to cease supplying the S5. It will end step for step, with a phasing out period and spare parts supplies continuing for a further 9 years.
